August 18, 2020 : Each 22000 girl students of Assam, who passed Higher Secondary Examination 2020 in first division will be given Scooty by the state Government.
This was announced this evening in a Press Conference at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati by Assam Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The minister said that altogether 22,000 girl students have secured first Division this year. So, each of them will be given a scooty under ‘Pragyan Bharti’ scheme before October 15, 2020.
Later, the minister tweet, “In my endeavour to implement each of my budgetary announcements, today I have proudly announced that 22000 girls students who secured 1st division in the higher secondary examination will get one Scooty before 15th October. Beneficiaries can opt either electrical or petrol.”
The cost of each scooty will be around Rs 50,000 to 55,000, but might be less than that, he said.
He also said that the students can choose electric scooties if they want, for which they can give their option through the website sebaonline.org. Those students who does not give the choice will be considered opting for petrol scooties, he added.
