Haflong, May 23, 2020 : All seven persons who tested COVID19 positive today in Haflong have been shifted to isolation wards of Haflong Civil Hospital for treatment.
Among them, Six were Chennai returnees (age group 22-26) while one have return from Tripura, who have been quarantined in a quarantine facility centre since they returned. They all are in the age group of 22-26.
Meanwhile, the district administration had shut down all shops in Haflong town for not maintaining social distance.
Till date more than hundreds returnees had been quarantined in several centre setup in various part of Haflong. Several quarantinees had also alleged poor qualities serve in the centres.
With seven new case from Dima Hasao dist. and three from East and West Karbi Anglong the hills district of Assam has so far recorded ten positive cases.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive member of NCHills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa urges general public not to panic but be more cautious and follow social distancing guideline.
“As of now, people should cooperate with the authorities in informing if they have any symptoms of COVID, they should not keep it a secret. At this time trust in government and administration is very important, we are trying our very best to help you.” Gorlosa posted.
Earlier, Gorlosa said,” Inspection of Quarantine facility at Siksha Bhawan, Haflong Govt Boys School and JNV, Sontila.📌Alert ~ 7 (Seven) people returning from Chennai found to be #COVID19 Positive today at Haflong. They are now at JNV, Sontila Qurantine Facility.”
Then, the Executive Member for Medical and Health Samuel Changsan said,

All returnees from outside NE.
No need to panic. They are all in quarantine centres in and around Haflong.
They are all being brought to the main isolation centre at Haflong Civil Hospital.
