Assam witness remarkable success in COVID-19 care, discharged 3259 patients on August 23

August 24, 2020 : The COVID-19 case in Assam went up to 90740 with 1272 fresh cases on August 23 and increase of death toll to 242 with eight more death on the day.

However, the state also witnessed remarkable success as 3259 patients are discharged the same day, making total discharged stands at 70900. Now, 19595 patients are still in Active case as per the report of Assam Health Minister Dr.Himanta Biswa Sarma at 10:45 PM of August 23.

In his Alert, the minister tweeted at 10:45 PM of August 23, “Alert ~  1272 #COVID cases detected today out of 18435 tests done in last 24 hours. Positivity Rate- 6.89%. Kamrup M- 280; Cachar- 134. Total cases 90740. Recovered 67641. Active cases 22854. Deaths 242.”

Informing at 10:16 PM of August 23 about the dead of eight more patients, Dr. Sarma said, “Demise of 8 Covid patients~Late Arun Thakuria(63), Late Om Prakash Sharma(56), Kamrup R; Late Durga Bhahadur Sonar(48), Late Sunil Kr Fogla(85), Dibrugarh; Late Ranjit Kr Dutta(74) Karimganj; Late Prafulla Deka(53), Nalbari; Late Malai Basumatary(48), Baksa; Late Khagen Pandit(65), Hojai.”

The state also recorded remarkable success as 3259  patients are discharged on the day.
