Assam’s COVID-19 tally reaches 32228 with 1142 new cases

July 26, 2020 : As many as 1142 persons have been detected to be COVID-19 positive, going the total case in Assam to 32228 today. While two death cases have been reported, 985 patients have been discharged today across the state today.
The total case in the state now stands to be 32,228. Out of this, 24,040 patients have already been discharged after recovery.
So far 79 patients have died due to COVID19 related case with two more patients succumed to the virus today. Till date 8,106 patients are still in active case, while three patients have migrated outside the state.
Updating his Discharge Alert, Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweet at 10:35 PM on July 26, ” 985 patients have been discharged today. Large number of patients going back home everyday is an outcome of great efforts being put by our doctors. Gratitude!
Total Discharged Patients: 24040. Active Patients: 8106.”

About the new positive cases, Dr. Sarma reported at 9 pm on July 26 said, “Alert ~1142 #COVID patients detected out of the 20542 tests done in last 24 hrs.This means a low positivity rate of 5.55% – a good news.”
“Guwahati-171,Kamrup-188,Darrang 100.Total cases 32228. Recovered 23055. Active cases 9091.Deaths 79,” he added.

Informing about the death, the Minister tweeted at 6.34PM on July 26, ” Two more #COVID19 patients, Smt Baisakhi Roy (53) from Tinsukia and Sri Birendra Shah (50) from Dibrugarh, succumbed to their infections. Both of them were admitted at AMCH, Dibrugarh.”
