COVID-19 death case in Assam rises to 58837 with 1123 fresh case, death toll to 145

August 10, 2020 : As many as 1123 persons have been detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam out of 24492 tests on August 09.
Informing this, Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in his tweet at 10:20 PM on August 09, said, ” Alert ~ 1123 COVID cases detected out of 24492 tests in last 24 hrs.”
This makes the state Positivity rate at 4.58%.
Among the 1123 cases, 240 were from Kamrup (Metro) district, while 121 were from Jorhat.Thus, the total case has gone up to 58837. Out of this 40591 have recovered, while 145 have died and left 18098 as Active cases till 10:20 PM on August 09.
The state has also recorded five more death case due to COVID related ailment the same day.
As per report, among the five patients who have succumed to their infection on the day, two were from Kamrup (Rural) district, and one each from Morigaon, Tinsukia and Dibrugarh.
Sharing about this news at 9:31 PM, minister Sarma said, “Five more COVID patients have succumbed to their infections today~ Late Rafiq Ali (66) & Late Mahendra Deka (90) of Kamrup Rural; Late Ramapati Devi (60) of Morigaon; Late Gobinda Das (32) of Tinsukia and Late Rijumoni Gohain (47) of Dibrugarh.”
Meanwhile, 1734 patients from were discharged after they tested negative.
In his Discharge Alert at 10:45 PM on August 09, Dr. Sarma said, “1734 patients discharged today.Such a large number of recovered patients consecutively for second day is heartening. Gratitude to doctors.”
According to him, the total case in Assam till date is counted 58837. Out of this, 42325 have already been discharged across the state after they were tested negative. So far 125 have lost their life due to the virus, while three patients have migrated outside the state.
Now, 16364 patients are still in Active case as at 10:45 PM on August 09.
