COVID-19 recovery rate reaches 52.96 per cent

June 18, 2020 : The recovery rate of COVID positive cases continues to increase and currently stands at 52.96 per cent.
A total of one lakh 94 thousand 324 individuals have been cured so far. Currently, over one lakh 60 thousand active cases are under medical supervision.
The Health Ministry said, in the last 24 hours, over one lakh 65 thousand samples were tested. The total number of samples tested till date is over 62 lakh. The number of government labs has been increased to 699 while private labs has been increased to 254.

Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan today launched India‚Äôs first mobile I-Lab  (Infectious Disease Diagnostic-Lab) for COVID-19 testing to promote last mile testing access. It will be deployed in remote, interior and inaccessible parts of the country. It has the capability to perform 25 COVID-19 RT-PCR tests per day, 300 ELISA tests per day and additional tests for TB and HIV as per CGHS rates. The I-LAB is supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, under the Covid Command strategy. (NoA)
