Haflong, May 23, 2020: District Covid-19 Discharge Board was constituted with five members in Dima Hasao district. For which an order was issued by Paul Barua, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, Dima Hasao.
In this connection, the first meeting of the board was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner yesterday, wherein 35 numbers of persons are granted release from the institutional quarantine after their swab sample test were shown negative.
In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner said, “As per COVID protocol, these 35 persons are to continue their remaining days for completion of 14 days period in home quarantine as recommended by the health department. The board took this decision on arrival of swab samples result of these persons as negative for COVID-19”.
As per government protocol for COVID-19, those persons returning from outside state are to be on institutional quarantine facilitated by the district administration and have a mandatory preliminary medial test for this virus within 7 days of their return.
Swab sample of 35 people who recently returned from various places, such as New Delhi, Chennai, West Bengal, Bihar etc were kept in their designated quarantine centres were sent for test in the first phase to the Silchar Medical College.
As many as 15 numbers of facility centres have been requisitioned by the district administration for quarantine facility, isolation facility, COVID care centre in Dima Hasao including at Maibang, Mahur, Harangajao.
The five member committee comprises of Deputy Commissioner as Chairman, Dipak Jidung, ACS, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Dipali Barman, Joint Director of Health Services and member secretary of the board, Dr. L Vaiphei, Dist. Surveillance Officer and Rukmini Difoesa, Dist. Programme Manager, NHM.
The board will take decisions in respect of the protocol which will be updated time to time by the Assam COVID-19 Discharge Board through Mission Director of the NHM, Assam.
The district board will be authorized to take decisions in cases of persons in institutional quarantine and home quarantine in the district, which have tested negative for COVID-19. Cases of persons who are tested positive of COVID-19 will continue to be decided by the state board as per earlier protocol. Report on quarantined and quarantine release persons will continue to be communicated to the state office on daily basis.
