EMEx training in Dima Hasao completed at Haflong

Haflong, February 7, 2020: The four days mega event on Emergency Management Exercise was successfully completed yesterday at the District Library Auditorium, Haflong with a debriefing session along with valedictory in presence of Deputy Commissioner Amitabh Rajkhowa and ADC Dipak Jidung and observers from Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority.
The fourth day saw all the trained participants come together for mock drill where the incident – simulation drill was done. The mock drill was designed to harness the strengths and capabilities of the emergency responders, educational institutions, hospitals, non-governmental organizations etc. as they prepare to meet the urban catastrophes of the town like Haflong.
On the third day programme a table-top exercise was organised where IRS (incidents response service) comprising of various departments discussed their responsibilities in case of any such catastrophe.
The Dima Hasao District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in association with Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) organised a four day event on preparedness exercise. During this four days rigorous training resource persons from UNICEF, ASDMA-Guwahati, NDRF and AID Foundation conducted training at five different venues.
On the final day the observers from MSDMA and ASDMA shared their observations along with suggestions for improvements for better service during situations when arises.
