Measures to prevent spread of corona virus in Dima Hasao from outside

Haflong, July 19, 2020: Today being the last day of two weeks lockdown in district of Dima Hasao since July 6, a meeting was convened by the Executive Member of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council i/c Medical Samuel Changsan in the office chamber of Jt. Director, Health Services.

The meeting, chaired by the EM, was called to discuss various prohibitory measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Dima Hasao, in view of the lifting of the two weeks lockdown.

The meeting opined that all persons entering the district on 20th and 21st July will undergo a mandatory swab test by both Rapid Antigen Test as well as Real Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction or RTPCR test  at the district border check gates located at Manderdisa, Diyungmukh and Ditokcherra. Producing any government approved ID card will be mandatory for each person passing through these check gates in-order to tackle faking of identity during data collection thereafter those persons will be stamped for mandatory home quarantine.

From 22nd onwards till further order all persons entering Dima Hasao district will have to give swab sample as per ATSP (Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme). In order to overcome the shortage of manpower at the gates, teachers from the education department will be deployed along with the police personnel and medical team of lab technicians for assistance in registration and checking of id cards of the persons entering the district. The local MACs with the help of the EMs Samuel Changsan, Ngamrothang Hmar and Nandita Gorlosa, who are also incharge of the border check gates and along with the Health Block in-charge are already arranging logistics at the gates so that they may be functional at the earliest tomorrow onwards. Supply of RAT Kits, VTM (Viral Transport Media), Gloves, masks, sanitizers will be adequately done to all people engaged at the check gates. ATSP for other category of people barring exceptional emergencies and at district border checkgates will be stopped until further decision. Unless very necessary, people from Dima Hasao are to refrain from travelling.

The meeting was attended by the EM i/c F& CS etc Ngamrothang Hmar and EM i/c Education Ms. Nandita Gorlosa, MAC Liton Chakraborty and Senior Leader and Vice Chairman, District Planning Board, Donphainon Thaosen. Besides, Doctors and officials from all Block Public Health Centres (BPHCs), Superintendent and officials of Haflong Civil Hospital, DPM and officials of NHM along with NCHAC Secretary, TT Daulagupu and Jt. Director Health Services Dr. Dipali  Barman also participated the discussion held on various issues and measures involved in executing the exercises adopted in the meeting.

It is to be noted that three EMs on instruction of CEM, Debolal Gorlosa who are also incharge of the Border Checkgates at Manderdisa, Ditokcherra and Diyungbra are working in close co-ordination with the medical team and district administration in order to prevent probable spreading of virus from outside the district.
