One house gutted by fire at Nivang in Dima Hasao

Haflong, April 2, 2020 : One reaidential with granery with full of rice was gutted by fire at Nivang village under Maibang Police Station at around 11 AM today.
In the incident, the house belonging to Mr. Nehthang Kholhou was completely gutted with all valuable properties, including rice and documents, though no casualty was reported.
When asked, no one could ascertain the reason behind the fire, as most of the adult person has gone out for cultivation, including Mr. Kholhou family, and few were left at the village.
There was strong wind which add fuel to the fire and valuable belongings including rice stock were completely gutted down, the source added.
Nivang is, a Kuki village, under Diger MAC constituenc, and under Maibang Police Station of Dima Hasao district of Assam. It is situated in a very remote area, bordering the state of Nagaland.
